Truckee  
Truckee is a thriving town of approximately 15,000 people in the high Sierras. Conveniently located off of I-80 (30 miles west of Reno, Nevada), and only a 3 hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area, it is commonly referred to as the Gateway to (north) Lake Tahoe.

Originally a lumbering and railroad town, Truckee is now predominantly a tourist town with exceptional year round amenities including several ski resorts, golf courses, lakes for boating, swimming and fishing, and hiking and biking trails.
